Other tips for teachers
March through June are our busiest months! To avoid the rush and spend more time in the interactive museum, visit September through February or after 12 noon March through June.
A brown-bag lunchroom is available during the school year from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Advance reservations are required. Please call 610-258-8500, ext. 10 for information.
The Weller Center's gift shop is a convenient way for kids to take home souvenirs. Body Parts in Goo, Sticky Eyeballs and growing brains are just a few of the fun and affordable items available. Items are priced as low as 50¢!
Chaperone information
Well-prepared chaperones are vital to the success of your visit! A 1:8 chaperone to student ratio is required. (Teachers do not count as chaperones.) Chaperones receive an orientation and lead students through a guided discovery of the interactive museum. Chaperones within the ratio are admitted free while those over the ratio will be charged the regular admission fee. To ensure students safety, under-chaperoned groups are not admitted to the interactive museum.
Outreach assemblies
All of the Weller Center's preventive health education programs are also available as interactive outreach assemblies at your school or organization! We can present up to four large group or six small group programs throughout the day.
Large group discounts
Special group discounts are available to schools that bring a minimum of 250 students to the Center in the course of one school year or schools that schedule two or more days of outreach.
