I’m Somebody (Grades K, 1)
Explore the basic rules of good nutrition, exercise and rest. Features the Magic Monster puppets, information on the five food groups and a special exercise segment! PA 1.6, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4, 11.3; NJ 2.1, 2.2, 2.5, 2.6, 3.5, 5.1, 5.4

Kids in Motion (Grades 2 — 4)
“Get moving” during this workshop that teaches the fundamentals of exercise. Students will get a real workout, so sneakers are a must! PA 1.6, 2.2, 3.1, 3.3, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4, 10.5, 11.3; NJ 2.1, 2.2, 2.5, 2.6, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 4.1, 5.1, 9.2

Food and Fitness for Life (Grades 3 — 8)
Learn about BMI, carbs, proteins and fats, the benefits and drawbacks of sports drinks and the risks associated with fad diets and supplements. The elements of a healthy diet and exercise program are stressed. PA 1.6, 2.2, 3.1, 3.3, 3.8, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4, 11.2, 11.3; NJ 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.6, 3.1, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 4.1, 5.1, 9.2

Beyond the Looking Glass (Grades 7 — 12)
Define self-esteem and understand how society and the media influence our eating habits and body image. Signs and symptoms of eating disorders, their adverse effects on the body and how to choose food wisely for health and nutrition. Features new student activities and high-impact video clips. PA 1.2, 1.6, 3.1, 3.3, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4, 11.3; NJ 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.6, 5.1, 5.5, 9.2

These interactive 45-minute programs are available at the Weller Center ($7 per student) or as large or small group assemblies at your school ($1,200 per day for three assemblies of your choice—maximum group size 300 students).

For faculty and staff

What’s New in Nutrition?
Important information on educating your students on the new food pyramid, trends in adolescent obesity, and strategies for making nutrition and wellness education fun and exciting for your students! Includes nutrition-based lesson plans and activities that address math, reading, health and science standards for easy integration of nutrition education into other academic subjects.

Available as a one- or two-hour Act 48 in-service for school faculty and administration. $500 per session (up to 300 attendees per session)

For parents and the general community

Unraveling the BMI Mystery
Explains BMI, the state’s growth screening program and what parents can do to help promote their children’s healthy growth and development.

Managing Mealtime Mayhem
Discusses children’s nutritional needs at various stages of development and how to deal with kids who eat too much, too little or who are picky eaters.

Hour-long workshops for parents and the community available weekdays and evenings. $400 per session (up to 300 parents per session).
