Program Spotlight: Life Begins

Puberty can be the most exciting - and confusing - time in a child's life. In most school districts, teachers or nurses are required to cover the concepts of puberty, the reproductive systems and fetal development with students in grades 4 - 6 in accordance with state and national standards. Oftentimes, however, school faculty may not be comfortable teaching reproductive health or have the proper resources to present this material. Through our Life Begins program, the Weller Center's team of professional health educators help relieve this burden on schools by partnering with them to provide students with the information they need to protect and care for their reproductive health.

how to talk to the kids in your life about human reproduction.
